Last year’s SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show drew more than 60,000 attendees and this year’s show (happening November 3-6) will likely be even bigger! California’s big trees are disappearing. A new study has found that the number of trees larger than two feet in diameter has decreased by 50 percent throughout 46,000 square miles of California forests. While it’s convenient to blame logging and housing for their disappearance, the truth is that water shortages and climate change might be the real culprit. Colorado schools support local farmers.  On September 30, the Colorado Department of Agriculture held the Colorado Proud School Meal Day. Emphasizing the importance of eating healthy and locally grown foods, the event encouraged schools across the state to use Colorado-grown foods in their meals. Celebrating local agriculture and teaching kids about healthy eating habits, this event reached more than 100,000 students in 600+ schools.
