With its deep tread, high lug-to-void ratio, and cut- and chip-resistant compound, the Galaxy Hulk has been the go-to tire for years among skid-steer operators looking for long tire life and reduced downtime while working in the harshest environments. Although the popular saying if it’s not broke, don’t fix it could have kept us from tinkering with this timeless tire, we couldn’t help but add a solid version of this classic to our lineup—as part of our expanding SDS solid line—to meet the changing needs in material handling, construction, and farming.

Introducing the Galaxy Hulk SDS Tire

Alliance Tire Group introduced the Galaxy Hulk Deep-Tread SDS, a skid steer tire whose massive block tread pattern—long a favorite among operators in tough conditions—is now backed up by solid construction for the toughest challenges in material handling, construction and farming. The Hulk SDS is the latest addition to the Galaxy severe duty solid (SDS) line, which also contains solid versions of such popular tread patterns as the company’s Beefy Baby and Yardmaster tires.

The use of solid tires continues to become more widespread within the waste, recycling, and construction industries. As margins get tighter, wages rise, and qualified employees become more scarce in these fields, the need for businesses to reduce downtime and increase productivity is more important than ever. By reducing the risk of sidelining a machine due to tire damage—whether from a chunk of metal or employee inexperience—solid tires can quickly prove themselves to be a solid investment. And with the option to choose designs with shock-absorbing apertures, driving on solid tires has become less jarring.

Introducing Three New Galaxy Solid Tires 

Alliance Tire Group (ATG) unveiled three new solid Galaxy tires—the LHD 500 SDS L-5, the Super Smooth SDS L-5 and the YardMaster SDS—today at WasteExpo 2016 in Las Vegas. The new solid tires complement the company’s highly successful Beefy Baby SDS, ATG’s first solid tire, which was launched last year.
