Aeolus Tyre Co. LTD made its debut in the yachting world this year as a sponsor of the Dongfeng Race Team, one of seven 65-foot yachts taking part in the round-the-world Volvo Ocean Race covering 39,000 nautical miles. After seven of nine grueling trans-oceanic legs, the Dongfeng yacht is currently second place overall.
Aeolus recently hosted some of its biggest U.S. tire buyers and distributors at the Volvo Ocean Race stopover at the Fort Adams State Park in Newport, R.I., the race's only U.S. port of call. As the company's sole U.S. distributor of Aeolus medium and heavy truck tires our executives were on the scene to cheer on the Dongfeng squad during the in-port race and to reinforce the Aeolus tire brand with its most important customers. It was an ideal setting to make the point that Aeolus has chosen the prestigious yacht race to bring to light the role that technology plays in making tires better and more productive for the end user.
