# Aeolus Tire and Yachts
You don't normally think about tires and yachts together, but the Aeolus Tyre Company is sponsoring a team in the globe-spanning Volvo Ocean Race this year to bring awareness to the fact that the same attributes required by a successful race team -- high technology, reliability and endurance -- are the essential benefits provided by today's advanced tire products.
Aeolus Tyre Co. LTD made its debut in the yachting world this year as a sponsor of the Dongfeng Race Team, one of seven 65-foot yachts taking part in the round-the-world Volvo Ocean Race covering 39,000 nautical miles. After seven of nine grueling trans-oceanic legs, the Dongfeng yacht is currently second place overall.
Aeolus recently hosted some of its biggest U.S. tire buyers and distributors at the Volvo Ocean Race stopover at the Fort Adams State Park in Newport, R.I., the race's only U.S. port of call.
