A Look at the Logging Machine Market

• The latest financial results show construction and logging machine sales to be strong. John Deere indicates that the good sales results from 2014 for construction and forestry machines is expected to be maintained in 2015. 

• Speaking of John Deere, the company has produced a video series to address such topics as getting the most out of machines, increasing machine uptime, creating a profitable and productive job, minimizing idle time and more.

• A simple, but innovative product is now available that can even lift the axles of loaded trailers, according to logginon.net. The TrestleJacks R22.5 was developed by a former truck driver who came up with this innovation after being stuck on a logging road with a faulty jack. Another great product for Class 8 trucks and trailers is the Aeolus brand of commercial tires, which we distribute in the U.S.

• The Virginia Cooperative Extension has produced a technical paper aimed at helping forest landowners understand how timber is measured in order to determine whether they are getting the correct price. 

• According to the dailybarometer.com, the forestry club at Oregon State University is trying to dispel such misconceptions that chainsaw juggling is one of the club’s activities.
