Introducing the Galaxy Mighty Trac ND Skid Steer Tire
The new Galaxy Mighty Trac ND skid steer tire, a versatile L-4 tire for use on loose soils, snow and pavement, was launched today at ConExpo/CONAGG by Alliance Tire Americas. The Mighty Trac's siped block tread design and 52:48 rubber-to-void ratio combine powerful traction on dirt and snow with wear resistance on the road. That makes it an ideal tire for municipalities, rental companies and general contractors whose skid steers encounter a wide range of conditions on the job, says Ryan Lopes, ATA National Product Manager—Materials Handling and Solid Tires.
"Alliance Tire is known worldwide for its purpose-built tires, optimized for specific challenges that equipment operators face on the job site, from mud to rock to snow," explains Lopes. "But municipal crews and rental companies need a long-lasting, all-season tire that they can run in the mud one day and on the road the next. We created the Mighty Trac ND for them."
Lopes points out that the open, non-aligned lug pattern on the shoulders of the Mighty Trac provides extra grip in soft conditions and highly effective self-cleaning, while the heavy, stepped centerline blocks ensure smooth roading and minimize wear. Sipes in every tread block enhances performance in the snow. A special cut, chip, and abrasion-resistant compound and reinforced sidewall with a rim protector extend tire life.
"We also designed the Galaxy Mighty Trac ND as a non-directional tire, which enhances performance in both directions and simplifies change-out for large fleets because there's no 'wrong way' to mount the tire," Lopes notes. "We have worked closely with our customers in the field to address the real-world challenges they face and deliver a tire that will perform and last through whatever their equipment is faced with."
ATA introduced the Galaxy Mighty Trac ND today at ConExpo/CONAGG alongside its new Galaxy Giraffe ND telehandler tire and its Alliance 585 radial for backhoes and loaders. Lopes says the array of tires reflects the company's commitment to manufacturing tires that are purpose-built to meet the specialized challenges of construction, mining, and other tough, off-road professions.
