Summer weather typically means that people spend more time outside and away from their computers. Whether you’re at the beach or watching a ballgame, summer usually means that you’re spending less time scrolling through your social feeds. But not this year! This June, our social media channels stayed hot as we brought you the best stories and articles from across the web about the fields of agriculture, construction, and forestry. Also, we made some news ourselves with the unveiling of three new solid Galaxy tires and our release of the informational Alliance 550 MultiUse video.
If we’ve learned anything over the past two months, it’s that people love the idea of Diggerland USA. After the incredible response we got to a post we made about it in May, we decided to devote an entire blog to the construction worker’s idea of the Magic Kingdom—only at Diggerland, when you wish upon a star, you get to run an excavator. If you’re a big boy obsessed with big toys, or the parent to a child consumed with Tonka trucks, you need to read our article on Diggerland here.
While big kids playing with big toys is a fun story, a big investment in an equipment company was our most-clicked-on construction story of the month. Billed as the Airbnb of construction, the peer-to-peer equipment rental company EquipmentShare received 5.5 million dollars in their latest venture funding round. Maybe more important, however, is the targeting of the construction business by high-tech companies. It will be interesting to watch how high-tech’s influence will impact the industry. Over the last few years, we have devoted lots of blog and social media space to trumpeting the incredible versatility, performance, and durability of the Alliance 550 MultiUse tire. This month, we were happy to finally be able to show you this amazing tire in action. Whether mounted on a tractor, sprayer, or towed implement, the Alliance 550 MultiUse delivers reliable performance in the field and on the road. Watch the Alliance 550 in action on our Facebook page here, or on our YouTube page here.
It seems that drones are everywhere these days—whether they’re being used for scouting crops and livestock on the farm, or helping construction companies track progress and conduct site surveys, drones are changing the way we look at the world and the way we handle certain jobs on the farm and at the construction site. This popular post from June highlights drones in a more traditional use: capturing cool video of a logging operation in action. Check out the great footage here.
Interacting with people through social media presents us with a great opportunity to better understand the needs and wants of our customers. That being said, we still love to get to events and meet people in person. This year, attendees of WasteExpo were treated to the unveiling of three new solid Galaxy tires. Perfect for use in scrap yards, recycling centers, and transfer stations, these tires are built for work where puncture hazards are prevalent and downtime is costly. Learn more about the release of these three solid tires here.
