# Taking Alliance Brand Tires to New Heights
We together with our German distributor Bohnenkamp sponsored an extreme high-altitude truck expedition in the Ojos del Saldo mountains in South America. The expedition's aim was to install high-mountain shelters and lifesaving solar-powered emergency radio communication systems. The team, led by Matthias Jeschke, on two Unimog trucks mounted on Alliance tires, reached the height of 6400 meters (just under 21,000 feet) and successfully completed the mission.
“We are very happy that both trucks were able to negotiate the extremely steep and rocky passage, thanks to very best technology, well balanced center of gravity and ingenious tire technology, and that they were able to transport the necessary materials and our equipment in such enormous altitudes. The complete actual team at the Ojos is doing well. Despite coldness, ice, and extremely thin air, everyone is fully focused" – reports Matthias Jeschke, head of the expedition.
**Alliance 392 HD: Made to Endure Extreme Terrain **
We sponsored the expedition with our heavy-duty Alliance 392 flotation tires. The Alliance A392 HD is an all-steel radial tire built for heavy-duty applications, equally suitable for drive and non-drive axles. In size 24R20.5 176F TL, this tire gives evidence of its extreme capabilities and endurance under the very adverse conditions of this expedition: temperatures between -30°C and +35°C (-22°F and 95°F), sharp-edged lava rock, volcanic sand as well as snow and ice, and steep slopes, make for extremely difficult terrain. Having the secondary and main summits tightly in sight, Matthias Jeschke reports: “Our trucks in combination with the extreme action tires and structural designs are just perfect for the most extreme possible off-road action.” – confirms Matthias Jeschke.
Even though the Alliance A392 HD delivers top performance on steep mountain slopes, the main field of operation of this tire is agricultural application on trailers, balers, spreader trucks, tankers and comparable agricultural vehicles. F-speed rating and top on-road performance compliment excellent off-road characteristics such as high flotation, high load carrying capacity, low soil compaction, high stability at all speeds and a lower rate of wear. As Matthias Jeschke reaches out for new height records with the A392 HD, agricultural customers clearly benefit from this tire’s high value for money and reliable top performance.
