Introducing Three New Galaxy Solid Tires

Alliance Tire Group (ATG) unveiled three new solid Galaxy tires—the LHD 500 SDS L-5, the Super Smooth SDS L-5 and the YardMaster SDS—today at WasteExpo 2016 in Las Vegas. The new solid tires complement the company’s highly successful Beefy Baby SDS, ATG’s first solid tire, which was launched last year. Bruce Besancon, vice president of marketing for Alliance Tire Americas, Inc., says the SDS solid line is a perfect fit for the waste management industry.

“We’re seeing a lot of interest in our solid tires from operators of scrapyards and transfer stations, where puncture hazards are highest and downtime is extremely costly,” Besancon says. “We’re also seeing continued interest in the pneumatic Galaxy Hulk and the pneumatic Beefy Baby III—which has become the gold standard for skid steer and loader tires.
“Meanwhile, people managing compost and remediation projects for waste management companies are looking for tires from our industrial and even agricultural lines, covered by our Galaxy and Alliance brands,” he adds. “The Galaxy Muddy Buddy is great for slick conditions in compost yards, and the steel-belted Alliance Multiuse 550 brings all-weather performance and a big rubber-to-void ratio to tractors and loaders in waste management. Of course, we also have the Galaxy Bosslift III for forklifts and the Aeolus line of truck tires—for which we are the sole US distributor—for garbage trucks and dumpster handling trailers.“All in all, what we’re seeing is that waste management customers are looking for a wide range of purpose-built tires that can handle the punishing environments, diverse job sites, broad array of materials in the waste stream, heavy loads and relentless schedules they work in every day,” Besancon says. “With thousands of designs and sizes among our Galaxy, Primex and Alliance brands, we have the tires for the job. Any job.”

The Alliance Tire Group display is located in Booth 4259 at WasteExpo 2016 in the Las Vegas Convention Center. The show runs June 7 to 9.
